Our Changing Climate: Earth Day | 10 Tampa Bay special

For more than 50 years, people across the globe have spent the day demonstrating their support for protecting our shared environment. But, even after the festivities are done, our planet will continue its normal trajectory around the sun and the realities of climate change will continue to become more apparent.

This Earth Day special takes a deeper dive into how our lifestyle impacts our changing climate and the effects it has on our lives — including our wallets and health.  It analyzes how Florida’s coastline, wildlife and infrastructure are all changing and what we can do to slow the damaging effects. Our climate specialists also outline important takeaways — including why we should care about our daily habits — in an effort to galvanize the viewer to realize their own ecological footprint and motivate positive change.

By weaving in these topics accordingly with the use of elements like anchor-to-monitor interaction, Steadicam movement, animated graphics, factoid pop-ups, drone shots and a cohesive meteorologist presence, the viewer is engaged in not only the message delivered, but also the presentation value.

A breakdown of some topics addressed in the special can be found here.
